Days seemed to fly by so quickly, and before she knew it her high school career would be just a blur. Now that was something she was actually looking forward to. No more school meant any more teachers attempting to get her to do homework, or ever schoolwork. Maybe she should have taken her parents advice and actually skipped another grade when she was younger. Then again, she wouldn’t be in the same grade as her twin, which would bother Brody more than herself, but she still liked hanging out with him, as strange as it sounded. Brody had always been there for her, willing her to do her best and to not settle for anything less. He had been there when she was sick so much as a child, stood by her side and give her day by day happenings of what was happening in school. That was one thing she always was able to look forward to, no matter what. She always could look forward to being sick thanks to being born early and small. Even to this very day a simple cold could land her in the hospital, if not taken care of properly.
Holly Brooklyn Lafferty had been dropped off early this morning with no thanks to one of her older siblings. Caden had taken a year off in between high school and college to think. Now to think about what was a good question, pressing this brother for questions was a little too much for her taste. Caden had dropped Brooke and her twin brother, Brody, off early due to a job interview. Neither of the twins could drive just yet, so they had to make due with a sibling or parent dropping them off. Brody had already made his way across the school, probably to get an early start on getting to class. Brooke had just rolled her eyes and called him an overachiever. The fifteen year old girl let out a sigh as she looked around. Not much to do just yet, she didn’t feel like studying, or doing homework, so that was out of the question.
Finally going inside the building, she made her way to the atrium. This would be the perfect place for her to just sit around and do nothing for a bit. She would have loved to skip school today and just hang out, but no she had some sort of test today. The only reason she knew this was it was a class she shared with Brody. Not feeling much like going up the flight of stairs, she found just a simple spot to sit, close to the door so she wouldn’t be late for class, yet far enough where she could have some space.
Brooke plopped onto the ground, sitting her bag down beside her and pulling out a few pieces of paper and a pencil. She began to draw, hoping that it would keep her occupied until the bell rang, or until her phone vibrated and told her she had a message from one of her brothers in college who were most likely as bored as she was at this moment.
